Workshops and school visits

About twenty appearances a year: a two-day writing workshop for adults, reading hours in schools, and a short workshop for children. School visits are free.

Writing the Memory of a Place

Writing a street, a shore, a house together with the memory of the people who live there. Participants arrive with two short texts and work on field notes, interviewing, and turning notes into prose.

School Visit and Reading Hour

A classroom or an auditorium

A short reading, then questions. No slides, no presentation; the hour goes wherever the students’ questions go. Free of charge; travel and lodging are covered by the school.

  • 20 minutes of reading (the book is chosen for the class)

  • 10 minutes of signing

The Bird at the Window Workshop

A chapter from the children’s book is read together, then the children write and draw their own rescue stories. Suitable for libraries and children’s clubs.

Upcoming workshops and talks

For schools

  • The request comes from the school administration; student or parent requests are not taken.
  • The visit is free; outside the author’s cities travel and lodging are the school’s.
  • Students don’t need to have read the book beforehand; the reading happens in class.
  • One visit a month is possible, so the queue can run two to three months.

Workshop registration

The adult workshop opens once a year, at the end of summer. Eighteen places; applications include two short texts, and places go by order of application rather than by the texts.
